Lynda chuckled as she listened to everything that Mark had to say to her. She knew he was right. She had always been steps ahead of everyone, including her own family and she did make sure that everyone was happy, healthy and safe. And she knew she would continue to do so because that was what her life was all about. But for once, it was everyone else's turn to take care of things while she rested. After turning the light off and closing the door softly and gently, she could hear him softly snoring. As Mark slept, Lynda softly began to speak to her before leaving to do get herself ready. "Oh, my sweet little brother," she whispered. "I will always be watching over you and the rest of the family," she said softly. "That's the reason for me living. As for me being steps ahead," she said chuckling softly, trying not to wake him up.
"I have always been like that, even in utero," she whispered to her sleeping brother. "That's how I became the first born, making sure to make my move strategically and precise," she added. Then Lynda went silent for a few minutes just to listen once more to her brother snoring. She couldn't help but smile as she finally went on speaking. "I'll make sure you all get me better and I won't rush or do the minimal things just to get back to work," she told him. "That I promise you. But also understand, my dear Mark, that even though I will be in treatments for a while, this hospital is still in my name, and I have eyes all around this place," she added. "So, you can be sure I will still be bossy, even if I'm nowhere to be seen," she said chuckling. Then Lynda looked at her watch and knew she still had to go to the bank and then go to Andrew's office before heading home to get things ready. But before she turned to go, she couldn't help but whisper one final thought. "Goodnight, my brother. Always remember that I love you," she added. She didn't know if Mark heard anything she said, considering he was sleeping well, but hopefully something got through to him. Lynda then turned and walked down to her office, gathered her things, making sure that House couldn't hack into her computer, then grabbed her purse, locked her office door and headed out the front door as the boss for the last time for a while.

"Oh right, I forgot that's what it is," she said with a smirk. And then her facial expression softened as she began to speak. "I know I don't have to, but I want too. Besides, you deserve it for all the hours you put in," she told her brother as she watched his eyes slowly closing from exhaustion. "And I want you to do something with Lizzie and Rachel," she instructed him. "In fact, why don't you take the family on a family vacation," she suggested.
Lynda smiled as she listened to Mark speak about House and James. She couldn't help but chuckle as she began to speak to him again. "Don't worry about them two," she told him. "They will have so much work to do that they'll never even notice you," she chuckled as she turned off the lights and stood in the doorway. "Don't worry, I'm not going to rush my treatments," she told Mark. "But I'll still be available for advice and things like that," she told her brother. "I'll just be in one room while you are on the outside. Now, get some sleep," she said and blew him a kiss goodnight. And soon Lynda closed the door and went down to James's office.

"I plan on getting myself straighten out soon and be back before you know it," she told him with a smile. "And I know you are little brother," she said with a huge smile on her face. Then she leaned down and softly kissed the top of her brother's balding head. "Maybe while I'm in isolation for a while, I can come up with a cure for baldness," she said making another small joke, though the thought of curing baldness would make her even richer than she already was.
Then Lynda cleared he throught as she began to speak seriously for a few minutes. "I know I don't have to, but I want to. You desever a arise and time off to spend with Rachael and Elizabeth. They need you more than this hospital does, though I do love having my baby brother working here," she told him with a huge smile on her face. "Besides, I owe you for helping me save my marriage to Ben Cartwright," she told Mark with her old smile back on her face. Then she moved onto why she left James in charge instead of leaving him in charge. "I know...I know....you and James aren't the best of friends," Lynda started to say. "But look at it this way, if I left House in charge, he would have you washing his car and anything else he can come up with before you had a chance to open your mouth," she told him. "This way, with James, you can at least work in peace and he's willing to take some of the load off your shoulders," she added. "But anyway, you just rest and enjoy your nap," Lynda said as she went over to the door and opened it. Then she placed her hand on the light switch. "And I'll get the rest of my business taken care of so that I can come back before the battle of the egos begins," she said laughing as she turned the light off. "Good night little brother," she whispered as she stood in the doorway a moment longer.

Lynda smiled as she listened to everything that Mark said. She knew he was right about everything, though she was still very worried about how her and Ben was going to get through this, but like Mark had told her, they would make it through. Lynda quickly blinked away some tears as she was beginning to speak to her brother, both soft and sincere. She softly touched her brother's face softly. "Don't be sad baby brother," she told him. "I'm gonna fight this thing and get mysef back on track," she added.
"Thanks Mark," she said with a smile. "And remind me when I get back to not only give you a raise but give you some time off so you and Elizabeth and Rachel can have some time together," she added. "But anyway," Lynda said as she took a deep breathe. "You can talk with Ben if you want too, it might help to have another male, who isn't so closely related to him," she added as she got serious again. "Now there is one more piece of business that I need to tell you," she told Mark. "Since I know how swamped you are and now me adding too that, and I know that everybody only tolarates House becasue of me," she told him. "I have decided to leave James Wilson in charge until I get back," she told him as she smiled brightly as she went on. "And I'm starting to realize that now," she told him. "I promise, I will never do this alone," she told him as she began to feel better about everything. Lynda got up and walked to the Mark's office door before turning around to look at her brother one more time. Then she just couldn't help but make a little joke. "Mark, sweetie, get some sleep," she told him with a huge smile on her face. "Want me to turn the lights off before leaving?" she asked laughing.

Lynda listened to everything that Mark at to say. She even smiled and softened up a couple of times as he was speaking. When he was done speaking, Lynda reached out and took Mark by the hands. And even though she winced in pain, she pushed through and smiled at her brother. It was then that Lynda was lucky that she had understanding siblings like Mark, as well as her other siblings and family to help her through this.
Once Mark was done speaking, Lynda let out a sigh and began to speak to him soft and unafraid. "I would have, but I've had a lot on my plate lately and I thought I could hand it," she told him honestly. "And to be honest, I had lost my meds, and I wasn't sure if they were in my desk drawer or if I had just ran out," she told her brother. Then she let out a sigh as she went on. "And it turns out that Jamie took them," she said as she moved onto her moving into an isolation room but not before addressing the situation between her and Ben. "I know," she said, knowing that Mark didn't know the whole story. "But don't beg too hard on Ben," she told him. "He's got a lot going on, and maybe I could have done things a bit differently," she confessed. "I'm just hoping this time apart will help strregnthen our relationship," she told Mark. "I can't stand to lose Ben over something so stupid like this whole OCD thing I have," she told him and then soon changed the subject. "But anyway, yes I think an isolation chamber is what I need to clear my head and get myself back on track," she told her brother as a smile came over her face. "I know you will be looking in on me," she told him."And I suspect that John, Bobby and Ben will want to check in too," she said. "And I'm sure that House will make his way down too," she added. "I just don't want a bunch of people coming around all at once," she told Mark. She knew Mark would make sure that visiters were limited and that they didn't stay long while Lynda got herself back together. Finally, Lynda began to smile as she continued to speak to her brother. "Thanks brother, for everything," she told him. "Yes I'll need my meds tonight, but can you have to room ready by next week? I still have a few things to get situation, as far as business and family wise before I go into the chamber," she told him. |
