A Winchester Family Easter Celebration Turns Demonic (2026)

from Lynda on 05/08/2026 07:01 AM

Lynda was washing dishes at the sink and watching John playing with the boys outside. He was pushing them on the swing, and they were laughing and having a good time. That was when Lynda realized that Angel and Dean weren't going to be little boys forever, which brought a tear to her eyes, though she did have a very surprise for John and the boys. And that's when an idea came to her, which brought a huge smile to her face. So, Lynda dried her hands and put on a light jacket and went out to join the boys for a little family time. "Mind if I join my boys for some family time?" she asked as Angel and Dean got excited and the smile on John's face grew even bigger. She knew that he was finally a happy man considering whatever the demonic world had planned to do over Valentine's Day apparently didn't happen, which meant a quiet life for her and her family, though some deep inside of her was telling her that this break was only temporary. Dean asked if Lynda would push him, which she said yes. And soon John was pushing Angel and Lynda was pushing Dean, both boys having fun and laughing as John and Lynda watched also enjoying seeing how happy their boys were. They played outside as a family for a couple of hours until it was time for everyone to go in and Lynda get dinner started. As John got the boys settled in the living room in front of some cartoons, Lynda went over to the doorway and began to speak to John. "John, honey, can you come into the kitchen with me for a little while?" she asked him. She was looking a little pale and feeling a little nauseous, but she shook it off for so that she could be serious when she talked to him. After making sure the boys was going to be alright, John nodded and then came into the kitchen with Lynda. As she went back to getting dinner started, which was spaghetti, meatballs, garlic bread and salad, John sat himself down at the table and made himself available to everything that Lynda needed to tell him.

Lynda cleared her throat and began to speak as she was making meatballs. "I have been thinking about the boys and how they are growing up fast," she told him. "And I know that we aren't going to have too many more days where they are going to enjoy things like Santa or the Easter bunny," she added as she kept rolling out meatballs until she used up all the meat and made a big bowl of meatballs. She only paused from speaking her mind so she could wash her hands. Then, as she was drying her hands, she walked over and sat down in a chair next to him. She placed the dish towel next to her and then reached over placed her hand on his and finally began to speak the rest of her thoughts before John could say anything. "John, I want to have an Easter party for the boys and maybe some of our closest friends," she told him and then went on before John could say anything. "I want the boys to have a great easter egg hunt, with their father dressing up as the easter bunny," she said with a huge smile on her face and once again went on before he could interject with any objections or anything like that. "I thought maybe you could dress up as the easter bunny, hide the easter eggs for the boys and their friends, and then after the easter egg hunt," she told him. "We could have a little dinner and celebrate Easter and then maybe a special surprise might show up for the easter bunny," she told him with a mischievous smile on her face. "I mean that is if he shows up to the party," she said as she looked at John. She could see the curiosity rising in his eyes, though she was still unable to read him as far as an Easter party and him dressing up as a bunny goes. Finally, she made one more plea before she let him have the floor. "Babe, before you make up your mind, remember, there hasn't a demon attack or a hunt for you to go on for a long while now," she added as she got up from her seat and walked over to John and put an arm around him as she leaned in and softly kissed his lips. "Just think about it," she whispered to him and the turned and went back to fixing dinner.

John stared at her for a long second.

Then his eyebrows lifted.

"Me," he said slowly. "In bunny ears."

Lynda didn't turn around, but he saw her smile.

John leaned back in the chair, arms crossing over his chest as he tried very hard to look serious. "You understand I have faced demons with better odds than surviving Dean seeing me dressed like that."

From the living room, Dean yelled, "I heard my name!"

John glanced toward the doorway. "Cartoons, Dean."

There was a pause.

"Okay!"

John looked back at Lynda, and despite himself, his mouth twitched.

He should've said no. Every instinct in him wanted to. Not because he didn't love the idea of the boys laughing, running through the yard, believing in something bright and harmless for one more year.

That was exactly why it scared him.

Because peace always felt like something borrowed.

But Lynda stood there making dinner, pale around the edges but smiling anyway, asking him to be ridiculous for their sons. Asking him to give them a memory that didn't smell like gun oil and motel rooms and salt lines.

John's expression softened.

He stood, came up behind her, and rested his hands gently at her waist.

"You really want this?" he asked quietly.

Lynda leaned back against him. "I really do."

John kissed the side of her head.

"Then I'll do it."

She turned in his arms, surprised and pleased. "Really?"

He sighed, pretending it cost him everything. "Yeah. I'll hide the eggs. I'll wear the ears. I'll even hop if you make me."

Lynda laughed, and John smiled at the sound.

"But," he added, pointing a finger at her, "no pictures."

Her smile turned wicked.

John narrowed his eyes. "Lynda."

"No promises," she said sweetly.

John groaned, but he pulled her closer anyway.

And for a moment, with spaghetti sauce warming on the stove and their boys laughing in the next room, John let himself believe the world could stay this gentle just a little longer.

"I think you would look very sexy in bunny ears," she told John still wearing that smile on her face as she continued to cook before she finally turned to look at John. The smile on her face never left as Dean and John had their little banter. Once they were done, it was Lynda's turn to speak, although she did have a playful tone to her voice. "And when Halloween comes around, I will make sure you dress up like one of those demons, but right now it's Easter," she told John softly. "Besides, I think both Dean and Angel would really enjoy it," she added as she was stirring the sauce as meatballs were still slowly, though she did turn the burner up a little higher to get the meatballs done faster. Lynda paused with her talking as she was concentrating on diner, especially the spoiling water, but she was also collecting her thoughts at the moment. It was when she felt John coming up behind her that she knew that John was about to give into her, which she knew since she was getting what she wanted, even if it was for the boys, that she had to reward John with a very special treat. And if right on cue, she felt John putting his hand on her waist and his lips on the side of her head. Lynda smiled that much more as she put down the spoon that she was using to stir the spaghetti sauce with and then turned around so that she was facing John. And with his arms around her waist, she put her arms around his neck and tilted her head and leaned in and deeply and passionately kissed him, letting her tongue gingerly slip into his mouth so that her tongue was softly caressing his.

After the most passionate kiss they had in a long time, Lynda let her lips linger a little bit as she began to whisper to him something that was only for him to enjoy. "I'll even eat your carrot if you wear the bunny ears to bed," she said naughtily as she went on speaking. "And don't worry about hopping," she added as she finally pulled away from his lips. But she did lean into his ear to say something else. "Because I'll make you hop all night long," she whispered as she softly kissed his ear teasingly. Then she pulled back once again with a very naughty and seductive smile on her face just as the sauce was starting to boil and her meatballs that needed to be turned over. "Now, if you will excuse me," she told him, knowing what she was about to say had a double meaning. "I don't want my balls to burn," she said as she smiled naughtily again and then gave him a wink. Lynda then turned around to the stove and went back to cooking. She reached over and grabbed the spaghetti, broke the noodles in half and then dropped them into the boiling water. As she was finishing dinner, she turned back to John and went from being a naughty little bunny girl to the wife and mother once more. "Honey, do you want to go get the boys washed up and ready for dinner?" she asked him. "It won't be long before dinner will be ready," she told him as she turned to looked back into John's eyes. "All I have to do is put everything together and stick the garlic bread into the oven for a quick warmup," she told him as she was taking the cooked meatballs and put them into the sauce so that they could finish cooking while she was keeping an eye on the spaghetti noodles were cooking, which she knew was almost done.

John had been ready to tease her right back the second she mentioned bunny ears.

Then she kissed him.

And every smart remark he had lined up vanished straight out of his head.

His hands tightened automatically against her waist as he kissed her back hard and deep, completely giving into her for those few long seconds. By the time she whispered in his ear, the tough hunter façade was hanging on by a thread.

"Woman," John muttered low against her ear after her little speech about making him hop all night, his voice rough with amusement and warning all at once, "you keep talkin' like that and those boys are gettin' cereal for dinner."

But then she hit him with the meatball joke.

John actually barked out a laugh.

A real one.

Deep enough that both boys instantly looked over from the table.

Angel—older, sharper, and unfortunately observant enough to know when his parents were up to something—narrowed his eyes immediately.

"...Why are you laughing like that?" Angel asked suspiciously.

Dean looked between them with complete confusion. "Yeah. Dad never laughs when food's involved unless somebody dropped it."

John cleared his throat fast, recovering with the survival instincts of a man who had escaped demons, ghosts, and now his wife's mouth.

"Nothing you two need to worry about," he answered smoothly.

Angel crossed his arms. "That usually means it's exactly something we should worry about."

Dean nodded in agreement. "Definitely."

John pointed toward the hallway before either boy could investigate further.

"Bathroom. Both of you. Wash up before dinner."

Dean groaned dramatically but slid off the chair.

Angel kept staring at John for another second like he was trying to solve a crime.

Then his eyes drifted toward Lynda.

Then back to John.

"...You're gonna wear the bunny ears, aren't you?"

John looked personally betrayed.

Lynda nearly lost control of the spaghetti spoon trying not to laugh.

Dean's eyes widened immediately. "WAIT—Dad's gonna be the Easter Bunny?!"

"Absolutely not," John said instantly.

Dean gasped. "Can we paint whiskers on him?"

"No."

"A fluffy tail?" Angel added, now fully invested in humiliating his father.

John pointed harder toward the hallway. "Move it."

Both boys took off laughing before John could grab either of them, Dean nearly slipping on the floor as Angel shoved him playfully toward the bathroom.

John waited until they disappeared down the hall before turning slowly back toward Lynda.

He gave her a long look.

The kind that promised retaliation.

"You," he said, walking back toward her slowly, "are enjoyin' this way too much."

Then his eyes dropped briefly to her lips before he leaned in close enough that only she could hear him.

"And for the record," he murmured, voice low and dangerous, "if bunny ears end up in my bedroom tonight... you're not gettin' any sleep either."

"Maybe just a little bit," she told him before moving onto what he said about the bunny ears and her not sleeping. "You promise?" Lynda asked and then teasingly went on. "Because I do love me a carrot and the bigger the carrot, the hungrier I get," she whispered as she continued to look up into John's eyes with a playful smile on her face. "And just for the record, your boys were the ones that came up with the fluffy tail and the whiskers," she told John. "I had nothing to do with those, even though it would make you look adorable," she added as they were looking at each other in the eyes, though Lynda's was shinning with love and warmth and playfulness. "Would you mind setting the table so that I can put everything together?" she asked as she finally got serious, though still had the playfulness in her voice as well as her eyes. John smirked and then nodded with a smile on his face, letting the playfulness show through his own eyes and smile. And with that, went over to the cabinet and got out the plates and began to set the table, while Lynda dumped the water off the noodles, then poured the sauce on the noodles and mixed them. Finally, after putting down a potholder, she went over and picked up the pan with the spaghetti in it and placed it on the table. Then Lynda went over and dished up the meatballs and finally the garlic bread.

Once she had those on the table, she went to the kitchen door and yelled for the boys. "ANGEL! DEAN! Hurry up boys! Dinner is on the table," Lynda yelled as she went back over to the table and began to fix a plate for each boy and sat one at each spot that Dean and Angel sat. Once she had their plates fixed, including one piece of garlic bread apiece, she went over to the fridge and got out the Parmesan cheese and then sprinkled some on each plate before setting it down. Then she looked over at John, who was already sitting down and scooping out some spaghetti and then adding some meatballs, then took a couple of pieces of garlic bread before reaching for the cheese. Lynda went over and got each boy and herself a glass of milk, which she sat at each glass at the appropriate place at the table. Lynda went over and once more yelled for the boys. "BOYS! DINNER!!" she yelled, this time sounding a bit more stern in her voice. Lynda had went over and sat down in her chair and fixed her plate, but she chose to wait for the boys, not knowing that the water in the sink was on, but the boys were no longer in the bathroom. Lynda sat there for a few minutes more when she then got up and went to the bathroom, where she looked in and saw the water running and a blue glow in the mirror to which she let out a blood-curdling scream. "JOHN!! THE BOYS!! JOHN!!" she screamed.

John was on his feet before Lynda had even finished screaming.
The terror in her voice ripped straight through him.
"Lynda!"
His chair crashed backward as he sprinted across the kitchen. His heart slammed against his ribs as a thousand horrible possibilities flashed through his mind.
The bathroom.
The boys.
The scream.
Nothing else mattered.
John nearly collided with Lynda standing frozen in the doorway. Her face had gone completely white and her hand was shaking as she pointed toward the mirror.
For a second John couldn't understand what he was seeing.
The sink was running.
The bathroom was empty.
And the mirror...
The mirror was glowing.
A strange blue light swirled across its surface like water disturbed by an unseen hand.
"What the hell..." John whispered.
"John..." Lynda's voice cracked.
Then both of them heard it.
Faint.
Very faint.
"Mom!"
Angel.
The voice sounded distant. Far away.
Lynda's eyes widened.
"ANGEL!"
"Mom!"
This time Dean's voice joined his brother's.
"Dad!"
The sound wasn't coming from the hallway.
It wasn't coming from outside.
It was coming from the mirror.
John's blood ran cold.
Without thinking, he stepped closer.
The blue surface rippled.
Like a pond.
Like a doorway.
Then suddenly two small hands slammed against the other side.
Dean.
Angel.
Both boys appeared inside the glowing surface.
"Mom! Dad!" Dean shouted.
The boys looked terrified.
Behind them wasn't the bathroom.
It wasn't the house.
It looked like a forest lit by blue moonlight.
Trees stretched endlessly in every direction.
Angel was clutching Dean's arm so tightly his knuckles were white.
"We didn't mean to!" Angel cried.
"The mirror sucked us in!"
Lynda immediately dropped to her knees in front of the mirror.
"Oh my God. Oh my God. Boys!"
Tears poured down her face.
Dean pressed both palms against the glowing surface.
"We can't get back!"
John crouched beside Lynda.
"Listen to me," he said firmly.
Both boys looked at him.
"We are getting you home."
"Dad—"
"I said we're getting you home."
The certainty in John's voice steadied them.
At least for a moment.
Then a low growl echoed from somewhere behind the boys.
Dean and Angel froze.
Lynda's heart stopped.
Slowly, both boys turned around.
The forest behind them had gone silent.
Far too silent.
Another growl rolled through the trees.
Much closer.
John immediately recognized the sound.
Predator.
Something hunting.
Something big.
"Dean," John said calmly despite the fear clawing at his chest. "Take your brother's hand."
Dean grabbed Angel's hand instantly.
"Good. Now back away from the trees."
The boys obeyed.
The growling came again.
Closer.
Branches snapped somewhere in the darkness.
Lynda grabbed John's arm.
"Do something!"
"I'm trying."
John placed his hand against the glowing mirror.
The surface rippled beneath his palm.
For one brief second the blue light flared brighter.
And on the other side Dean's eyes widened.
"Dad!"
"What?"
"The mirror!"
A crack of brilliant blue lightning shot across the surface.
The portal trembled.
The entire bathroom shook.
And then something massive moved between the trees behind the boys.
Two glowing eyes opened in the darkness.
Watching.
Waiting.
Hunting.
Angel let out a frightened sob and buried himself against Dean.
John's expression hardened instantly.
Nobody—
Nobody—
Was touching his sons.
"Hold on, boys," he growled.
The blue light around the mirror suddenly surged brighter.
"Because Dad's coming."
