When Laura didn't hear back from Gunner, she knew he was either coming up with his next reply or else he was coming up with a way to get to her, either way Laura had a nervous stomach, which she did her best to hide it from Hoss. Laura closed her eyes for a few minutes and took a few breathes before opening her eyes and turning all her attention to Hoss. 

Meanwhile, Jax Teller, Gunner's right hand man came walking into the house. He had his things loaded and stood there  in the doorway as he began to speak to Gunner. "I'm ready to go sir," Jax told Gunner as he pulled out the picture of Laura. "This Laura chick is beautiful, she should be greatful to you for loving her the way that you do," he added as his tone and facial expression never changed. "Do you want me to call you when I get to Virginia City?" he asked. 

When Laura got the reply back, her face went from worry to frustration and anger, though she did make sure Hoss didn't see it until she was ready to tell.  After a while, Laura began to write Gunner back, knowing that whatever he was  planning, she had to stay two steps ahead off, especially with Hoss's health issues. 

"Gunner, you listen to me," Laura wrote. "You will do nothing but move on with your life," she added. "I don't want you anywhere near me or Eric. In fact, just stay away from the Ponderosa altogether," she added and then hit the sent button. 

Hoss and Laura had just gotten out of the bath and was getting ready to head to the doctor when Laura's phone went off. At first, Laura didn't know the number until she opened the text and saw who was getting ahold of her. Laura turned to make sure Hoss was looking because she knew Gunnar texting her would make him very upset. She would tell him when she knew it wouldn't bother him so badly. While Hoss was not looking but rather getting himself dressed, Laura began to text Gunnar back. 

"Gunner, you know you aren't supposed to be texting me or having any contact with me per the restraining order," she wrote, even though she knew he probably was planning something right now. "I don't love you. I never have and you know that. My heart has always and will always belong to Eric Cartwright. So please....please leave me alone," she wrote and then she hit the sent button, hoping that was the only time he would text her, but knowing it wasn't.
